The Birds Outside My Window
Birds bring me joy and hope

My mother and I share a love and admiration for birds. They are incredible animals. Most of them can fly and sing. There are some exceptions like; chickens, kiwis, or penguins. And even these birds are amazing on their own.
We like to admire their beauty, different shapes, sizes, and colors. That is why we decided to buy a bird feeder and water bowl. Our garden needed more animal life. The flora is already there, we just needed some fauna.
Since hanging the feeder and water bowl, we get regular visits from local birds, mainly sparrows. I love to observe them. At first, I could tell that they were on high alert. In case a predator or treat would show up. But, after a couple of weeks, the birds started to trust in us, not to the point where we could get close to them. But, I can tell that they are more comfortable with us around.
I am very thankful to them because they brought some needed peace to me. During my days off or after work, I would observe them from behind the windows of my home. A tender feeling awakens in me when I watch them live their lives.
Since my childhood, I have had a great fascination for animals. I would find a good spot to watch them. And I continue to do it because it brings some peace and relief. Every time I feel stressed out or depressed. I found that having contact with nature helps me to clear my mind, and to better cope with my problems.
Thus, I am thankful for the birds chirping and singing outside my window. Their presence lightens up my day and makes me feel better. They bring hope and inspiration to go forward and not to give up.
If you need to clear your mind, maybe watching the birds can help.
